Scanning instructions

Below is what we need to be able to make a panel.

Scanning the original panel:
600dpi is the absolute minimum resolution and it might work, but if you can scan higher than that it would be much better! (The result may vary since some scanners are better than others.)

Place the panel as straight as possible in the middle of the scanner to get minimal distortion.
Please make 2 scans of the front. One scan with the panel vertical and one horizontal.
Then make 1 scan of the back of the panel.

If the original panel is black, make sure to scan with a closed lid/white background so that the holes is clearly visible with the least amount of shadows as possible.

Please do NOT crop the images! If done wrong, cropping could lead to loss of DPI-data, which would affect the end result. No image processing is necessary. Save as uncompressed .JPG or regular .PNG if possible.

Take photos of the module without the panel mounted:
When you have the panel off of your module, please take some regular cell phone camera photos of the module without the panel mounted on it, both front and back. This is to be able to see the version number and components (especially potential light sources and screens), so just some clear, light and sharp photos.

Other information:

- If there are one or more standoffs, I will need caliper measurements for both it's height and placement, and a clear photos taken "straight ahead" of the back side, mimic-ing "scanner view" with a camera) to find the exact location for it/them.

- If there are light pipes, take a photo of one of those from the side with a ruler close to it (if you have a digital caliper, measurements would be incredibly helpful!)

- If there are LEDs, it would be helpful with clear photos showing their location on the "naked" module without the panel mounted.

- If there is a screen protector, take a photo of it from the back side when mounted in the panel (purpose is to see how much it protrudes from the panel).

- If there are any screws, it would be good with a photo of one of those too from the side (with a ruler close to it) in case I would be able to find a black replacement (difficult though).

- Please let me know if there is anything special about removing the knobs/gear (like small screws under the knobs for example).

If the files are too large for email, and unless you have some other practical way of sending me the files (a google drive link for example), you can go to www.wetransfer.com, drag and drop your file, choose the option to grab a link, copy and paste the link in a mail (hello@morkmodules.com) to me.
